Experienced Practice Nurse Required

New Valley Practice, Crediton/Thorverton


We are looking for an experienced practice nurse to join our friendly nursing team in an innovative and expanding practice. The surgery is based on two sites, one in Crediton the other in Thorverton. Primarily, the post is based at our Thorverton site; however the successful candidate would be expected to work at either site regularly.


The vacancy is available from July/August 2019. We are looking for 15 -20 hours a week and some holiday/sickness cover (5 weeks annual leave per annum) with a view to extending these hours in the future. We offer Improved Access which can include some evening or weekends at our Crediton site. The successful candidate would be responsible for working independently in Thorverton but would very much be part of the whole nursing team.


Personal development and training is encouraged and supported. Essential skills will include chronic disease management, wound care, and baby immunisation. Desirable skills include family planning, cervical screening, travel immunisations. We currently use SystmOne computer system. Competitive salary offered. This is a varied and interesting job within a friendly and supportive team.

Improved Access News


We are pleased to be able to provide our patient community with an extended service. Working alongside our local colleagues within the Federation of General Practices, Mid Devon Healthcare will offer a 7 day service. Evening appointments will be available Monday – Friday across the Federation practices, along with a Saturday and Sunday morning service. Please contact the surgery for further information on evening and weekend appointments.
